Tumelo Ruele is one of South Africa’s most talented vocalists. He first began singing in church as a boy and graduated to singing alongside Lauryn Hill when she visited South Africa for a performance. His debut album Arise and Shine was nominated in the Best Dance Album category at the South African Music Awards. He describes his music as ‘inspirational, entertaining, uplifting, chilled and motivating. I feel like music should put a smile on people’s faces. Therefore, I strive to better people’s lives and get them through their struggles in love, life and everything else that matters, through my music.’ ‘I Fantasize’ is dance music with a soulful and tribal twist.
The lyrics are inspired by the absence of Tumelo’s partner during a period when he was constantly on tour performing. It is driven by the feeling of missing a loved one and having day dreams about them - a true testament of how it feels to be in love.
Zepherin Saint’s mix is darker and edgier whilst Mark Francis’ vocal and instrumental mixes are at the more soulful end of the spectrum. The original is somewhere between the two and emphasizes the track’s roots in tribal beats.
