'Aqui Vem O Sol', (Portuguese for; 'here comes the sun') is the latest offering from the London new kid on the block. Perhaps better known for remixing credentials, Martinez has been following some encouraging pushes from his peers as of late and focusing more on his own original material, opening shop for 2014 with quite a musical exhibition indeed.
Happy to stray from the more familiar house music territory he is accustomed to, Martinez hits out a near on 10 minute Nu-Jazz musical outing that radiates sunshine and introduces the vocal talents of new-comer Veema Louys.
'Paring up with Vee for this project was a breeze' states Martinez, 'We both share very similar tastes in Latin, Jazz and Neo-Soul music and are working on her debut album together which is more representative of these types of genres. On this cut she really captures a summer feel and the dancing in between English and Portuguese whisks you away to Rio de Janeiro looking on Corcovado as the song says.. 'Am super hyped to be introducing this amazing songstress on this single, look forward to seeing how she is received and can't wait to let off her album!'
Martinez goes on to complete the production by bringing in the talented Charlie Parker on Alto Sax to dance in and out of Louys%u2019 smooth vocals and finally, Tribe & CliqueAMP mixes are tagged to the Original, adding freshly cut Afro Latin house flavours and rounding up a beautiful single that's sure to warm up your day and leaving you longing for that sweet sweet sunshine..
